Danger Sign NFL Veteran and Rookie Signal-Caller

The Nebraska Danger Indoor Professional Football Team continues to recruit for the upcoming 15-game IFL season. Danger Head Coach Mike Davis is pleased to announce that the following players have signed for 2013:
Maurice Simpkins: LB 6'1, 240 Coastal Carolina University/NFL - Packers,Rams Simpkins, a South Carolina native, brings a wealth of defensive experience to the Danger, having been signed by both the Green Bay Packers and the St. Louis Rams. He was on the Packers active 53-man roster for two games in 2010.
Simpkins will be called on to anchor the Danger defense in 2013. In addition to his time in the NFL, he brings indoor experience with him to Nebraska as well. He was named the IFL's Most Improved Player in 2010 while playing for a Green Bay Blizzard team that finished 10-5 and advanced to the playoffs.
"Maurice is the field general that every team needs to be successful. He is what this league is all about; a guy who continues to work hard on and off the field to try and make it to the next level," Davis said. "We look forward to having Maurice on our team and the play-making ability he will bring to the Danger."
Simpkins was a three-time All-Big South linebacker while playing at Coastal Carolina University, and was inducted to the school's athletic hall-of-fame in October 2012.
Hunter Wanket: QB 6'4, 220 Central Connecticut State University In his final two seasons at Central Connecticut, Wanket threw for 1,657 yards and 13 touchdowns, and rushed for an additional five scores. "Hunter is a high energy rookie with a great will to be successful. He is a pro type QB with his size and ability. I'm excited to get camp started and see how he fits in with the team," commented Davis.
The Danger will begin the 2013 season with a home opener against the Lincoln Haymakers of the CPIFL on Saturday, February 23. Kickoff at the Heartland Events Center is at 7:00 PM.
